The "Au Bout du Monde" walk offers superb panoramic views of La Rochelle and its southern tip, with the Phare du Bout du Monde lighthouse and Fort Boyard! This fun and different route will take you through one of the most beautiful parts of the town, away from the town centre, with its remarkable viewpoints. Part of the route also runs along the entrance channel to the old port, on both the outward and return legs, offering a splendid view of the towers of La Rochelle. After skirting the port of Les Minimes, the walk takes you to the Minimes district in the south of La Rochelle, with its sandy beach and headland offering breathtaking views of the Phare du Bout du Monde lighthouse, the islands of Aix and Oléron and Fort Boyard... a feast for the eyes! On the way back, this walk will take you to the south-facing Parc des Pères, which overlooks the sea with a lovely view of the beaches of Aytré and Angoulins.
